Pixoot Glyphs & Spells Guide: 205 Glyphs, 8 Slots, 5 Tiers

Glyphs are Pixoot's spellbook — 205 unlockable abilities you equip into eight slots and fire with a key press or a shape drawn on screen. This guide covers the categories, tiers, unlock rules and the three ways to cast.

What a glyph is

Your hunter auto-attacks the nearest enemy in range, so glyphs are how you add punch, control and recovery on top of that: a Nova burst at your feet, a piercing Spear, a chained Zap, a Ward for defence or a Trap under a pack — those five are unlocked from the first minute. Everything else is earned. Casts look for the nearest enemy within 200 units and share the glyph's own cooldown, which shows as a sweep plus a number on the slot.

You start with five glyphs and unlock one more every time you level up, until the whole book of 205 is yours. Levelling a glyph makes it stronger, and the Glyph Arts in the skill tree buff every glyph you own at once.

Ten categories, one for every job

Every glyph belongs to one of ten categories, which is the fastest way to browse a book this size:

CategoryGlyphsCategoryGlyphs
Projectiles33Ultimate23
Area Effects26Healing15
Utility25Damage Over Time15
Defensive22Movement15
Crowd Control21Summons10

Names you will meet early include Fireball, Blink and Heal; the deep end of the book holds Meteor Storm, Black Hole and Phoenix Rebirth.

Five tiers

Glyphs are also ranked by rarity, colour-coded the same way as loot: Common (grey), Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (orange). Rarity matters when you level up: a common takes 6 points to reach level 5, a rare takes 10 and a legendary takes 15.

Eight slots, and where they sit

The bar holds eight equipped glyphs. Keys 1 through 8 cast the slot of the same number. Slots 6, 7 and 8 are also draw slots, each with its own gesture — N, W and ∩ — so a glyph that arrives there is immediately castable on touch without memorising a number. New unlocks are dropped into the next free draw slot (6, then 7, then 8) automatically.

Open the Glyph Book with G to swap what sits in each slot. The book is where you spend points on levels too:

TierL2L3L4L5
Common1122
Uncommon1223
Rare2233
Epic2334
Legendary3345

A glyph tops out at level 5, and every point comes from the same pool the skill tree uses — a point spent here is not spent on a node.

Three ways to cast

Cooldowns come from the glyph's own cd. They come down through the Surge Glyph Art, Haste passives, gear cooldown reduction and the legendary Chrono Talisman — stack those and a full rotation comes back noticeably faster.

Honest note: glyphs in co-op

In a co-op room your casts damage the shared world: the server applies each glyph's damage (your glyph levels and Glyph Art bonuses included), credits you for it, and broadcasts the result — the whole party sees the same HP drops and the same damage numbers. Self-heals, drain heals and stuns are resolved server-side as well. Your group contribution is everything it is in solo play: auto-attacks, positioning, potions and your glyphs, as described in the co-op guide.

Where to go next

Equip five glyphs, unlock a sixth, and start reading the book by category rather than by name. Play Pixoot free in your browser to open the Glyph Book on your first hunter, and read the full How to play guide for gestures, cooldowns and the rest of the interface.
